The use of horsehair for upholstery and manufacturing spans the centuries. Strong, versatile and elegant with a natural silky sheen, it lends itself well for interior use, particularly as furniture and wall coverings.
This collection takes its inspiration from nineteenth century decorative design, similar to those still surviving in the nation’s state apartments and heritage buildings. Made by one of the few remaining horsehair manufacturers, the hair is taken from the tails of live horses and woven onto silk or cotton warps.
The maximum width achievable is 70cm, and a custom design service is available.
